The demand for petroleum for production and daily life has been increasing when the Lunar New Year is approaching. In order to ensure enough petroleum supply in the domestic market, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has requested leading petroleum distributors to actively prepare sources, maintaining an adequate supply of petroleum in their trading systems.
Regarding this request, PVOIL leaders said the corporation which currently holds the second-largest market share in the country, has closely monitored market fluctuations and worked with domestic refineries as well as overseas suppliers to ensure a stable petroleum supply.
The leading petroleum distributor also requested Nghi Son and Binh Son refineries to regularly update their production situation to prevent the shortage of petroleum. PVOIL will also proactively implement the appropriate plan to maintain supply. Besides, the corporation will use the reserved petroleum as well as imported when the shortage is reported.
PVOIL’s distribution system has more than 620 stores and a system of warehouses and ports across the country. It has sufficient facilities and capacity to supply enough petroleum for the growing market demand, especially before, during, and after the Lunar New Year.
The effectiveness of its strong retail system has been proven in recent years, especially in 2020 and 2021. Despite challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic, PVOIL ensured a stable, uninterrupted supply, and its retail stores still operated to serve customers’ demands. The corporation also provided free petroleum to thousands of ambulances and vehicles mobilized to support the pandemic prevention.
