Journey PVOIL VOC 2021

[2] 65 out of 80 teams registered to compete at PVOIL VOC 2021

According to the Organizing Committee of the PVOIL VOC 2021, as of 3pm on November 9, the 5th day after registration was opened, 65 teams have registered to compete for this year's tournament. The teams filled out the registration form and submitted fees.

Among the registered teams, most of them are from the North. There are teams coming from Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Vu Ngoc Cuong was the first racer to register and transfer money to participate in the tournament. He was the champion of the PVOIL VOC 2020. Mr. Cuong said he was very happy and excited when he has only one month to prepare for everything.
"2021 is a special year when the whole country is badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Almost nobody thinks that sport event can be organized this year. That is the shortcomes and disappointment for the athletes until the announcement of PVOIL VOC 2021", Cuong said.

"when I heard that the tournament would take place at the end of the year, I was very excited and signed up right away because, like many other athletes, I didn't want to miss the opportunity to participate."

Out of 65 teams registering to participate, there are 16 teams from Vietnam Pickup Class, 27 Teams Basic, 14 Teams Advanced and 8 Teams Extended.

"With the number of participants as above, it is expected that the Basic Class can have enough teams to attend before the scheduled registration deadline is November 17," said Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoang, Head of the Organizing Committee. He said that among the registered athletes, 7 athletes declared that they had received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine, the rest had received two shots.

Explaining the reason for the rapid increase in the number of registered teams despite many difficulties for athletes, many people said that the main reason was because from the beginning of the year until now, there was no major sports activities. Annual big tournament like VOC is something that racers look forward to.
Ms. Ha Giang, a female racer who participated the tournament organised in 2019, said that this year she will continue to participate in the Vietnam Pickup Class and will strive to achieve high results.

According to the annual practice, the tournament would take place in final Saturdays and Sundays of September, which is September 25 and 26, 2021, at the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village in Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi.

However, due to the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic, the time for organizing the sport event will take place later as planned. At present, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and some provinces have completed 50% of the 2nd dose of Covid-19 vaccine, therefore, the Organizing Committee, the Management Board of the Tournament PVOIL VOC 2021 off-road car racing confirmed that PVOIL VOC 2021 will officially take place on December 11-12.

PVOIL VOC 2021 is jointly organized by OTV Media and OTOFUN Forum. It is sponsored by Petrovietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL). This is the largest and oldest racing tournament in Vietnam. At the present time, with only one month left until the tournament to officially take place, the Organizing Committee is rushing to prepare for the race as planned.
